Prof. Long Cheng Attends the First Editorial Board Meeting of IET Smart Energy Systems
On May 30, Prof. Long Cheng from the Van der Aalst Energy Process Intelligence Laboratory attended the first Editorial Board Meeting of IET Smart Energy Systems at the Beijing International Convention Center. The meeting was jointly organized by the China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute and North China Electric Power University. During the meeting, Prof. Cheng received the editorial board appointment certificate from Prof. Jizhen Liu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

The meeting focused on the progress, positioning, international development, and future directions of IET Smart Energy Systems. Experts exchanged views on frontier topics including smart energy systems, intelligent power grids, energy artificial intelligence, system optimization, and control, providing valuable suggestions for the future development of the journal.

Prof. Cheng said that it was a great honor to serve as an editorial board member of the journal. In the future, the laboratory will continue to support the journal by contributing to research areas such as energy process intelligence, smart energy systems, deep reinforcement learning, and foundation models, and by promoting the exchange and dissemination of high-quality research in related fields.
This participation also provided a valuable opportunity for the laboratory to strengthen academic exchanges with experts in the energy and power sectors and to further expand its academic influence in smart energy systems.
